How to Make Matar Paneer At Home | Matar Paneer Recipe | Peas and Cottage Cheese Recipe


Matar paneer  is an Indian vegetarian dish consisting pea and paneer(cottage cheese) in tomato based curry spiced with garam masala. It’s often served with rice or Indian bread (roti, prantha ,naan or poori). It’s a very popular dish in north India proudly served in every restaurant in India. Ingredients

  • 3 onions chopped
  • 2 tomatoes chopped 
  • 2 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 2-3 clove
  • 1 cardamom
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 3-4 peppercorn 
  • 6 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon matar paneer masala
  • 100 gm paneer cubes (cottage cheese)
  • 100 gm peas




METHOD


  1. Take oil in a pan heat it.
  2. Add onion saute for 2 minutes and grind it well. 
  3. Separately grind the tomatoes and keep aside. 
  4. Now heat oil in a pan add cumin ,cloves, peppercorns, cardamom, cinnamon. 
  5. Now add onion and ginger garlic paste saute till it starts releasing oil and doesn't let it stick to pan.
  6. Add tomato puree and saute well. 
  7. Mix all powder masalas in 2-3 tablespoon water and add it to the pan.
  8. Saute well till the masala starts releasing oil.
  9. Add half cooked peas and cubed paneer to it. 
  10. Add water to adjust consistency. 
  11. Let it boil.
  12. Add chopped coriander leaves.



SERVING SUGGESTIONS:-SERVE IT HOT WITH ROTI, PRANTHA ,POORI OR RICE
